Leonard Wilson Jr. When I have writer's block, I do other things like exercise, play basketball, play video games, read other writers' work, read my own work, etc. A huge part of becoming a great writer is finding inspiration from everything and being able to connect life with the art. That comes from living. So if you ever have writer's block, go live. A writer's mind is inherently a sponge. Everything we watch and observe becomes a potential part of our art.
Leonard Wilson Jr. The process of creating is the best thing about being a writer. Additionally, hearing positive feedback about your work is priceless. It takes a lot of creativity, energy, and hard work to create good to great art. Receiving positive feedback from peers and supporters is the greatest feeling in the universe.
Leonard Wilson Jr. Write. Actors act. Singers sing. Rappers rap. Teachers teach. Artists create. As writers, we need to balance real life, family, school, work, etc., but the most important daily activity we struggle with is to do what we claim to be.
Leonard Wilson Jr. I'm currently working on another fiction thriller. My working title is "Who is David Rothenberg." David is a hyper-intelligent college kid who finally gets with the girl of his dreams. However, she begins to change as a person and their relationship dwindles. How he handles the breakup is the engaging part of the story thus far. Additionally, like my last book "Who Is Mr. Thomas: The Missing Girl," David has an interesting background that will surprise everyone including the reader.
Leonard Wilson Jr. I am inspired by real life events that occur. Some of what I write is from my own experience and observations. I read a lot. I pay attention to human behavior. I studied psychology in undergrad, and I use those skills and thinking to create my stories.
Leonard Wilson Jr. Well my most recent book is under the pen name of Leland A. Weston. I got the idea for "Who Is Mr. Thomas: The Missing Girl" when I quit my first teaching job. I was upset at a lot of things and I knew I wouldn't actually do the things I thought about doing to a terrible principal. So I started creating this story about a teacher who was secretly a serial killer. That was the basis of the book, but as time progressed, it slowly morphed into a love story with the same sinister background. It took time to develop this novella into what it has become, but I am proud of the story and the characters that organically developed.
