Angela Brown Copious amounts of chocolate and ice cream, extra quality time with my daughter so I can feel good about something, then writing prompts; most likely in that order lol!
Angela Brown I love that writing is something I enjoy and I get to share it with others. So readers would be the best thing about being a writer. Out there, somewhere, is a reader eager to read a story they haven't read yet, and I get to be the one to share the story they've been waiting for. How cool is that?
Angela Brown Read like your writing depends on it, because it does. Reading different stories can expand your mind, try your imagination and help you in understanding the various tropes of differing genres.

Then I'd advise to take your time and enjoy writing. Before you're published, you don't have a publisher or readers to answer to. Enjoy that flexibility.
Angela Brown I'm working on the next story in my Ripped Ties series and I also have a middle grade project that I hope to share more about soon.
Angela Brown There's inspiration to write in so many things. Oddly, it's in moments when I'm doing something else that inspiration often hits. I'll be driving, humming along with the radio, and as I pass a street sign, the name sparks an idea. So I have to hurry home - safely - to jot notes for when I'm ready to work on the writing project.

Because I have several projects in the works, inspiration to write isn't the issue. It's the lack of time. But slowly, surely, I'm getting better with managing that matter.
Angela Brown I really enjoyed reading Suzanne Collins's The Hunger Games. But I couldn't help wondering what it would be like if, instead of fearing being chosen, what if it's what every citizen dreamed would happen to them? Then my main character flourished as the one citizen who dreaded the idea of being chosen, especially after what happened to her parents. Being a lover of paranormal and urban fantasy, other inspirations - like True Blood - hopped on board. The rest grew from there.
