I usually do something different. Going for a walk really helps. Once, my dog died and I pretty much had writer's block for six months which was really tough. I found when I got back to the book I needed to cut a character out. Once that character had been axed, things got so much easier and the writing flowed again.

I use my bed as an office sometimes! And my muses inspire me ... my dogs and cats. I love going to work everyday with them by my side.

Read, read, read. And write! Don't overthink, just get going. Also, don't judge yourself. Getting creative criticism can be a good thing but not if it makes you feel like a failure. Think of all the great books that publishers said would never go anywhere. There will always be writers better than you (Shakespeare!) so don't feel down when you aren't a genius. There all all kinds of books for every taste. There is no "bad book" and no "good book." Just get writing!

I have just finished the first draft of my second book for Bookouture, another domestic thriller. It's very much still in the works and I'll be sending it to my editor this week.

I have always loved writing and have so many ideas. I don't think I could ever run out! I do get writer's block sometimes though. Going for a walk tends to get my brain back in action. Anything can inspire me: a poem, a newspaper article, something someone says. Even anger can inspire me. The "what if" question gets my creative juices going.

The idea for this came to me in a dream! I woke up one morning with the triplets (yes, triplets) telling me that my house had belonged to them. I just had to make a story and that's how THE WIFE'S HOUSE came to be!
