Trusting the Heart will be released late fall of 2017. I was inspired to write this historical novel by an email I received two years ago from a reader in Hamburg, Germany. She had just read A Thousand Summers and come across the name of her American-born mother who had been missing for 50 years. She wondered if I might have known her mother. Sadly, I had to tell her "no". She gave me a few more details and I created a world around these fascinating characters.

Inspiration is all around us, we merely have to pay attention. I live at the beach...what's more inspirational than that? As to how do I get motivated? I write every day. It's something I love to do. I've been writing stories since I was seven years old.

My current novel, When Summer Ends, takes place in the town of Cannon Beach, Oregon. Once again I am playing with the notion of a ghost bringing love and comfort to one he loves. I consider it another one of my "beach reads" due to come out in 2018.

Keep at it and never quit. Write something every day, whether it's in a journal or a chapter of a book. Always stay focused. The more you write the better a writer you will become.

I love the entire process of writing — the creating and plotting of story and characters, the actual writing, even the editing, but I get flat out excited when I get to meet my readers. I love them!

I learned a long time ago that there really is no such thing as Writer's Block. If one knows her storyline and characters well enough, the story writes itself. So if I'm ever stumped on my next move, I go back to my outline and my characterization and expand on the details.
