When I'm not writing I read approximately one book per week, and sometimes two. Right now I'm enjoying "Never Resist a Rake" by Mia Marlowe. I have quite a few author friends with new releases, which I will read over the summer. What are you reading?

There is no denying that I do get writer's block from time to time, but I find that working on several projects at the same time helps. If I am truly stuck, I will go for a walk, watch a movie, or read. You can't force the words to come. There is a group on Facebook called Scribblers Ink which posts daily prompts. I find that writing a few short paragraphs from those prompts helps move the mental log jam.

Inspiration comes in many ways. Sometimes I will see a commercial, hear a song, or a thought may just pop into my head. If I find myself lacking inspiration I generally will go for a walk or read a book written by someone else as reading often inspires me. I also find spending time with friends who are also authors is also inspiring.

The idea for my most recent book, To Kill a Monarch, came to me as a "what if". What if I could create a story that was like 007 in 1811. The more I thought about it, the more intrigued I became with it. Suddenly, the story formed and was born.
