I have a writing coach, so I have to give her 20 pages a week. This keeps me moving forward on my project. And I just "show up", which makes it part of my daily routine. Some days are more inspired than others, but if I keep showing up, I find that eventually I complete my project. Check out Kathie Giorgio at All Writers Workshop in Wisconsin, if you need a coach. She's awesome.

My writing leads me into life and doing things I never would have done otherwise. My husband and I took trips to Greece and Turkey for me to research my first book. To help with researching my second book, I mentored a woman in recovery, attended AA groups and hosted a labyrinth walk in a prison. Such incredible, learning experiences. For my current book, I went to Ireland twice!

I have finished the first draft of a new novel, Revelation in the Roots: Emerald Isle. It continues with the MAMs Book Club, this time they are addressing the political and racial divide in our country. The MAMs explore genealogy and DNA and take some of the group home members to Ireland. I'm incorporating Celtic spirituality, leprechauns, St. Brigid and more!

I'm a very creative person and I also believe that God calls me to speak about things that are important. So I'm very motivated to write, and then after I go into the silence each morning, ideas flow. Daniel Wolpert, a Presbyterian pastor once said, "When we orient our lives around the practice of prayer, our sense that we lack creativity slowly melts away; and we find that we long to create." I find this so true!

Every morning, I begin my day in meditation and then I journal. The idea for this book emerged from my morning space, from listening to God and the earth, from my concern about issues facing us today in the US. I wrote this book for the earth.
