When I was growing up in Georgia, a kind young man who worked on Grandma's farm helped us with our horses. One day my parents were very upset to learn he'd been beaten up, taken away from the area, and told to never return by a group of hooded men. My parents were outraged, but the identities of those who terrorized this kind black man was never found out.
