I would absolutely go to the Game of Thrones world. I would search until I found Daenerys and help her win back her throne!

During the day, I work at a school that cares for children with special needs. Because of this, I wanted to create a story in which a child with special needs was the focal point of the story and if a child with special needs might change someone's actions in a given situation. The rest of my story sort of developed around Mia, the child with special needs in my latest novel.

Pretty much anything can inspire me. I'll see someone on the street or overhear a conversation and then...bam! A story is created. Normally. it's a "I wonder what would happen if...." sort of thing. Then I begin to create the characters and the story.

I am currently working on my next novel. This one tells the story of a woman who discovers that her deceased husband had been cheating on her. When she seeks out the other woman, she discovers that her husband had a child with his mistress; a child with Down syndrome. The protagonist in my novel must come to grips with not only this betrayal but whether or not she can allow her own child to have any sort of relationship with her half sister.

Never give up. After I finished my first novel, I received numerous rejections. I found myself surfing the web quite frequently, visiting the sites of authors I had read in the past. Each and every one of them told of their struggle to be published. Everyone has been rejected at one time or another. I found it very encouraging to discover that some of my favorite writers has also been rejected countless times before they were "discovered."

The best thing about being a writer is the solitude. I cherish any time I have to myself where I can think about my characters and what I want them to experience. In quite times, the words flow easily.

Normally, my writer's block is not so much the not knowing what I want to say, it's more that I don't know how to say it. I normally know where the scene or chapter is headed so I just need to figure out how to get there. I find that focusing on something else...playing with my dogs, checking on my garden or doing anything to change my scenery will do the trick!
