I don't think of myself as being blocked, just without any worthwhile ideas. I meditate on my subject, or do an activity that creates a shift in perspective, like swimming in the ocean at night. Do NOT force it, that just creates more crappy ideas. Let it flow.

All thing visual actually, which is horrible for my writing. I find writing is an intensely inward and solitary experience whereas the visual arts are so very outward. Working with artists and the gallery is really quite disastrous for my writing...
