Richard A. Powell II I never try to force it. If I were to, I feel like all I would be writing is crap, and ultimately waste my time. I just find other uses for my time, mostly developing new stories and outlining future projects, maybe pop out a short story or two in the meantime.

If I get stuck on a story, it's probably because something is wrong. Maybe I'm not feeling as strong about the story as I once did, or the path I'm pursuing in the story is not panning out like I hoped. Either way, the thing for me to do is just step away and stew a bit. Eventually, the answer presents itself. Most of the time, it just means taking a right turn instead of a left at some juncture in the story.
