I try not to wait for inspiration when it comes to writing, I just sit down and do it. Not everything that comes out is good, usually it's not, but writing can be both a passion and a curse. I always feel better when I've done it, but it's not always easy to get the story on the page in a way that makes sense (to me or anyone else).

I'm currently working on my third book, which is the story of a writer who loses her mind and believes she's having conversations with Virginia Woolf. Plus, there's a little mystery in there as well. Virginia Woolf is a huge inspiration to me and I've spent the better part of four years studying her life and work to prepare for this project. I'd like to think she'd approve of how the story turns out.

Being able to write something that people actually want to read is the cool thing about being a writer, but after all the hard work that goes into a book, just having someone say they liked it, or that they related to the characters somehow, makes it all worth it.
