Oddly enough, the idea came to me in a dream one night. In it, my girlfriend at the time was standing outside shouting to the sky as I watched from the window. I felt terrified as I saw more and more women in the block standing out there, screaming "I love you!" to a cloudless sky. Then I woke up and started writing.
