Ryan Toxopeus Willow and Tara from Buffy. They were so cute and sweet to each other, and the twist ending to their relationship was gut wrenching and brought about Evil Willow. She was pretty scary.

After seeing that, I want Alyson Hannigan to play Pellin in my books. I think she'd be an amazing fire wizard!
Ryan Toxopeus The trilogy is inspired by my group of friends. Stu, Anthony, and Nikki played the main characters Sarentha, Thomas, and Eliza, respectively.
The following series will have a new set of characters far in the future: Gregor, Sardo, and Trai, originally played by Stu, Anthony, and Ian. There are some major changes that I make throughout the course of the books, but the fundamental building blocks came from those game sessions so many years ago.
Ryan Toxopeus Ideas pop into my head and I need to get them down. While I know the overarching story for my trilogy, I sometimes have a scene or a part of a scene appear while I'm not thinking about writing (in the shower, walking down the street, riding the bus, etc.).
If the inspired section is not what I'm working on at the moment, I need to blaze through the parts I'm on to get to the part that I had the inspiration for. My best weeks in terms of word count tend to come when I have something burn into my brain that's several scenes away and I MUST get there asap.
Ryan Toxopeus So many things...
Book 2 of the Empire's Foundation trilogy, A Wizard's Gambit, is currently being edited. It's also out to beta readers and I've been incorporating their feedback.
Book 3, A Hero's Birth, is in the works. I'm at about 24000 words right now (July 16th, 2014).
I've finished the first draft of Demon Invasion, a novella that chronicles the back story for one of my main antagonists in the trilogy.
I just started a short story for another Theme-Thology anthology. The working title is "Cattle."
Ryan Toxopeus Ignore 99% of the posts that deal with what other famous authors say you should do. They all disagree with each other with the exception of one point: Write.
But if you really want my advice, get a good editor (check references), a good cover artist (check online portfolios and references), and make it as good as you can before publishing. If you publish a half-finished first draft, you will turn off potential readers.
Ryan Toxopeus Hearing that someone loved my writing. I love to talk about everything, from the process of writing to specific details about the world and characters I'm working on.
Ryan Toxopeus I haven't had to deal with it. I've never sat down and had no idea what to write. Sometimes the scenes are tricky, but I just work through them and fix them later if I'm not happy with them.
