What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Shayne McClendon Creating worlds, people, outcomes that you wish into being (even if only on the page of a book). I've always been a fan of escapism. If I feel negative, books (reading and writing) always helps.

Do you have new books you are working on?
Shayne McClendon I'm always writing so definitely YES. Currently, I'm releasing all the books I wrote (one each month) while on a two-year sabbatical from just about everything. However, I'm working on Hollow's story, Kenny's story (Street of Storms), and Jackson's story (Yes to Everything). They're all BIG and EMOTIONAL so they're happening between short stories and paranormal novels to keep me from disconnecting from reality.

Hello Shayne, I have just finished writing a novel. I am not a professional, I am a retired 71 year old with many interests, therefore it has taken me nearly four years to complete. Will there be a sequel to "Say yes to everything"?
Shayne McClendon Yes...there will. :) I struggled for many years to go back to the Kincaids. As you know, there was pain there. I've been fleshing out Jackson's story for a while - still working to pull myself together so I can finish it. I start, stop, start, stop (with lots of crying). It is definitely happening though. My working title is "Yes to More."

If you could travel to any fictional book world, where would you go and what would you do there?
Shayne McClendon This is a hard one. I love classical romances (like Jane Eyre, Pride & Prejudice, etc) but it's not a place for a modern day lady such as myself. I think a world where the paranormal is commonplace (my Sabrina Rue universes, Kresley Cole, Gena Showalter, Lora Leigh) would be most exciting. I've always said I'd be an AWESOME werewolf. :)

Shayne McClendon Right now, I'm reading Dean Koontz entire "Nameless" collection of novellas. They are spectacular.
