Tyson Clarke Just keep writing! No matter how great or small your success, just keep writing! You may find that you're fortunate enough and talented enough to be able to make a living from writing alone, but even if that's not the case at least you'll be free in knowing you put yourself out there, that your work is in the world for anyone to enjoy!
Tyson Clarke My recent book, "Louis and Cameron - On the Trail of Misunderstanding", was inspired after I attended a youth football game. I had the opportunity to meet some of the players, parents and coaches, and at the end of the day I kept thinking that football would be an excellent vehicle for a second Louis and Cameron book. Obviously, there is more to the story than just football, but it was certainly the catalyst for the entire book!
Tyson Clarke My inspiration comes from many sources. Sometimes a person I meet or have known inspires me to create a character in their likeness, and in turn I write a story around that character. Other times, I'm struck with a general story idea after attending an event or witnessing something out in the world. I truly never know what will inspire me next!
Tyson Clarke I plainly don't believe in writer's block. Sure, there are moments in which I struggle to connect pieces of my story or days where I'm just not as creative, but these challenges have never stopped my production. I just start writing down more ideas, not matter how absurd and then I sort through all of it!
