Reading very well written fiction inspires me. Non-fiction as well, but to a lesser degree. When writing is elegant and thought-provoking it creates a fire in me. I get an itch, a kind of need to write, the ideas start popping like popcorn in my brain and I'll rush to whatever is handy, my computer, my phone, a notebook. Anything just to get it down. That's an exciting high while it's happening and for a while after, too. I love it.
