I have a few 'tricks' depending what I'm writing...if it's a new story, maybe a short one, the A-Z method works well; write words in a list starting A-Z and then use them, in any order and begin to write...after a few sentences, ideas emerge on paper and you can bin the A-Z list if necessary.
Taking a break can often help...ironing used to distract me but always have a pad and paper close by.
The best thing to do is just write...and write...it's very likely I'll bin the first few pages but the process of writing starts ideas and the pen moving.
