I step back from the situation and re-visit it later. I've also been known to just start writing and see what comes out of my head. If I'm in the middle of a story and get stuck, I'll think about the ultimate outcome and then figure out how to get there. I may need to add a new character to act as a plot bridge. It just depends on the situation.
