I don't think you have to be "inspired' to write. Sometimes the writing comes so easy it's like you're thinking words onto the page. You're in a zone. And sometimes every word is like pulling out a fingernail and the next day you delete it all. But none of that is about inspiration. It's about dedication, perseverance, self discipline...and duct-taping my ankles to the chair.

I'm not sure I believe in writer's block. I was a journalist for 25 years and when deadline came, that story HAD to be written--whether you felt inspired or not. For me, the same thing is true in fiction.
