Suzi Love Because 2015 is the 200th Anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo, many museums are having displays based on the battle. There are paintings, relics, and stories from the battle and these give me an idea of what happened, who was there, and what a soldier's life was like then.
Suzi Love I'm a huge people watcher, and I love to travel. So I have heaps of inspiration from the people around me and the places I've visited. I love creating a character who helps people, like a nurse, or a mathematician, like Lady Rebecca Jamison in Embracing Scandal.
Suzi Love I'm working on a story set immediately after the Battle of Waterloo. It's part of a group of connected stories and will be released before the 200th anniversary of the battle in June, 2015.
Suzi Love I get to let my imagination fly and create characters that I think are quirky and fun and put them in settings that I love, such as Regency England, or the New Hebrides (Now Vanuatu).
Suzi Love Write whenever and wherever you can. Write down those ideas that come to you while sitting on public transport or in a waiting room. Go back to them later and write a hundred words on that idea, and then another hundred, and another. The more you write, the more the ideas will flow until you find you have more ideas than time. (which becomes a common problem with writers LOL!)
Suzi Love I never suffer from writer's block, thankfully, as my head is always buzzing with ideas that I want to get down on paper and turn into a book. If I get stuck on a particularly emotional scene, I keep going with the chapter and then go back to that scene when I feel I have a grip on the emotions needed.
