Helene Forst One of my favorite fictional couples is Tiller and Sairy in Sharon Creech's novel, Ruby Holler. They're an eccentric older couple whose children have grown. They invite twin orphans, who no one seems to want, to come live with them in a special place called Ruby Holler where they embark on life changing adventures.
Helene Forst Hi Melissa, Thank you so very much for this message of gratitude. I agree with you completely that taking the time to say thanks, to be in gratitude, is the essence of a part of life that seems to be lacking among us humans because we are moving so fast, always in survival, not taking the time to breathe and be in the now, enjoying the fact that we are alive. You owe me nothing. I hope you love the book and give it a great review on Goodreads and Amazon. I think it's a winner.
Helene Forst As I shared earlier, I just got elected to become Lieutenant of Squad 8 in the not-for-profit East Hampton Volunteer Ocean Rescue organization. The bravery displayed in our rescue swimmers is something that is amazing to watch and be part of.
Helene Forst There's a story in everything. I see stories that want to get written all the time. I have to stop myself sometimes, because my imagination is always working, spinning tales where ever I look.
Helene Forst I just became Lieutenant of Squad 8 in East Hampton Volunteer Ocean Rescue and decided to write a YA novel about the courageous rescue swimmers that volunteer their services to protect the waters of East Hampton. My new book, The Rescue Swimmer, is just at its beginning stages.
Helene Forst Don't ever give up. I've found that positivity, perseverance, and hard work most often win out.
Helene Forst The best thing about being a writer is the time I spend alone with my thoughts. Everything is quiet and my world is at peace.
Helene Forst When my brain shuts down and the creativity stops, I go for a walk. Fresh air always clears my cluttered thoughts. And sometimes when nothing comes to me, I simply put it away and come back to it in a couple of days.
