Thank you so much for the note. I love hearing stories like these. I know the Brigante name for sure. At least two of the Cimino students you are referring to are my father Jack and my Uncle Babe - who back then was Al. They also had a bunch of cousins with the name Cimino all around the same ages. My dad was born in 1939 and my uncle in 1941. Yes, there a lot of real places and people used in the book. It is historical as it is combined with real mafia events that happened during the prohibition era. Thank you so much for reaching out and for buying my book. I am trying to make it out to Garfield for a book signing, but sales need a huge kick before I can do that. We are getting there....slowly! Thanks again and God Bless Peter Cimino

I usually just walk away for a while. I don't panic. I try not to put any added pressure on myself. Usually doing something else and letting the story breathe eventually removes the block. I never force write!

It is just something I love to do. There is a freedom in it, and a part of me in everything I write. It is also very cathartic.

It is based off of my late grandfather, who inspired the main character. I never met him - he passed 4 years before I was born, but he was somewhat of a legend. I heard so many stories about him that I had to take advantage and create this unforgettable character. I used the town of Garfield where my family is originally from and he was so popular. I spent so much time there, I know it like the back of my hand. I combined these with my knowledge of the mafia - especially the early years, to create this mafia-crime drama.
