Give yourself time. Don't stress about it because it will come to you eventually. Go for a walk or read a book totally different from what you are working on. Remember, that writer's block doesn't last forever and you wouldn't be normal if you didn't have it every now and again. You could be sitting down watching the news headlines on T.V. or listening to radio, when in a split second, it will come to you. And then you will be wondering what all the fuss was about!

The best thing about being a writer is that you have a big blank canvass at your fingertips - one you can shower with the most colourful thoughts and wild inspirations. It is a fantastic outlet and wonderful escapism from the everyday mundane tasks in life. Pick up your pen or open your laptop today and get writing...you won't regret it!

If you have always wanted to write, then do it! I had a dream of being a writer when I was younger and was always encouraged by teachers in school. However, life went down a different path and it was only years later when I was in my 30's that I decided to open the laptop and begin typing my first manuscript. When I sent it off to a literary agent, she loved it and decided to take me on. Since then, I began contributing to newspapers and magazines. I also appeared on national television to promote my first book and was a contributor on RTE radio for a season. So much can happen when you put your heart and soul into writing. However, don't forget to read too - lots of different genres. And don't be put off by rejection as what doesn't work for one editor, can work for another. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again!

My second non-fiction book is due out this October with The Columba Press. It is a follow-up/sequel to the first book. I'm sure I will be kept busy once this is released! I'm also in the process of writing an historical fiction novel which I am really enjoying.

I am intrigued by people from all walks of life. I read a lot and keep an open mind on things. Life is just one big journey for all and I believe everyone has a story to tell.

I got the idea for this book after going on a trip to the village of Medjugorje after my sister passed away. I suppose you look at life differently when someone close to you dies. I think we are all searching for answers in this life. I had visited the village in the former Yugoslavia as a child but had not returned for 20 years until 2011. While there, I was asked to write features for 3 different publications, including The Sunday Independent. I spoke to many people who shared very intriguing and very personal stories about how their lives changed after visiting this place. It was then the idea for my book was born.
