I love being able to converse with my readers about the characters and hearing their ideas on where they want to see the stories go. It is exciting/terrifying when someone reads your work but I love the feedback!

Luckily, I have not had to many major experiences with writer's block. I have been jotting down notes for years and it is not unusual to find random Post-Its everywhere (the bathroom, my purse, in my pockets, on the fridge, nightstand drawer, etc.) that have short snippets of scenes, plots or dialogue I want to include in one of my works. I would say it more "organization block" that I suffer from!

That's a tough one! I'm torn between Stephanie & Ranger in Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum novels and Claire & Jamie in the Outlander novels. Both of these men protect the women they love fiercely, as well as respect and care for them in a tender way. Their relationships are spontaneous and exciting.

My advice is to just get your story down on paper! Don’t worry about grammar or punctuation, just get your ideas in writing. Once that’s done, what I typically do is read back through, making sure I don’t have any gaps in the story, all the subplots are resolved and everything makes sense. Then, put it away. Seriously, put it away and don’t even think about it for 3 or 4 weeks. That way, you will forget about a lot of the details of the story, so when you do finally re-read it, you can do so more critically. You’ll read through and think to yourself, “Wow! That was a great line!” and it inspires you. On the flip side, you could read something and think, “Geez, that is really dumb,” and re-write.

I just finished up edits for the 2nd book my publisher just picked up, One Word. This is the first book in the Victoria Torrens Novels series, and I am halfway through the 2nd installment. I am hoping to have that one picked up and published in Spring 2015.

Most of my ideas come from my dreams. I keep a notebook next to my bed so I can write down the ideas that pop into my head and wake me in the middle of the night. Sometimes what I have written doesn't make a lick of sense when I read it in the morning, and other times, it sparks that memory and I am flooded with information and I have an insatiable need to get it down on paper.

My most recent book, Tattva, started out as a strange dream I had when I was 13 or so. I woke up that morning and immediately wrote it down. That dream had always stuck with me and I later tried making sense of the dream by adding on to the story. Before I knew it, I had an entire book!
