Jo M. Thomas Write because you need to. Keep writing. Do your best to enjoy the process, or trick yourself into it by rewarding yourself for a job well done every time you come to the end of a writing session.

However, if it's about getting published, remember it's highly improbable any of us will be the next big thing. It takes a certain amount of luck to get noticed and to get things turning over. That said: keep writing. The more you practise, the luckier you'll get.
Jo M. Thomas Start a side project, usually a(n intended to be) short story, or watch a movie, or listen to some music, or walk the dogs. Sometimes taking my mind of it works wonders. Although I have the benefit of not doing this as my day job, so it doesn't mater so much if I don't write, other than my own feelings of guilt!
