The political climate and discussions about the haves and the have nots were a part of my zeitgeist in waking and dreamland life. I knew that I knew I wanted to write another paranormal story because it's fun to bend the rules. I knew I wanted to write an alien romance for young adults or new adult. I loved writing commentary on art and changing the historical facts behind real history events in (Of Thorns and Pearls) and I thought that what better space to do that then to an alien domination world apocalypse story (A Wider Sky).
