I’ve always been drawn to people whose voices were easy to overlook. Growing up in a family deeply rooted in public education, I learned to notice the students who were struggling quietly—the ones without a parent or advocate to stand up for them. I felt compelled to be that champion when no one else was listening.
That instinct carries directly into my true crime work. The mystery I keep returning to isn’t only who committed a crime, but how victims’ voices fade—how their stories become reduced to case files, timelines, and evidence lists. My work is driven by a responsibility to bring those voices back into the narrative, to tell the story in a way that centers the lives that were taken and the families left behind.
If that became a book, it would be about restoring voice where silence took hold—and examining how easily that silence is allowed to settle.
