The book is called Beyond the Basement Door. The idea has been with me for years now. It began as a film project during my M.F.A. program at DePaul University. I was a firm believer in trying to make small versions of the genre films I’d like to see so I leaned on my cosmic horror influences to make the film in 2009. I’m now novelizing Beyond the Basement Door, which is exciting to me because I can expand the story in ways I couldn’t with a limited film budget.
