Eric Colbourne My new book, Dancing on Air, (soon to be released) was inspired by a visit to Reading Gaol in Reading, UK. This is where Oscar Wilde was imprisoned in 1897 and where he wrote "The Ballad of Reading Gaol". The ballad tells the story of Trooper Woolridge who was hanged at the gaol at the time that Wilde was serving his three year sentence for homosexuality.
Eric Colbourne Don't be in a hurry to get your draft manuscript to a publisher. A year of polishing combined with feedback from some independent readers (not your relatives) will do wonders.

Eric Colbourne I am currently working on a non-fiction work about the end of the death penalty in one part of Canada. The book, Dancing on Air: A Tale of Vengeance, Mercy, and the End of the Death Penalty in Newfoundland, details two controversial murder cases from the 1940s. These cases had a profound impact on the justice system in the province.
