Marko Kloos Yes, a fifth book is on the way. I'm aiming to release it before the end of the year.

Did the Frontline series ever get a hardcover run?

Marko Kloos No, it was only ever available in paperback.

Hi Marko, I just discovered your excellent books and I'm reading them when I can, your books are just the best. What I love to most is that you focus on the people that do the actual fighting instead of focussing on the armchair generals. Are you planning books on publishing books on WW2, the Korean war or the Vietnam war? I think your writing style would result in some awesome stories.

Marko Kloos Maybe? If I write real-world war fiction, it'd probably be more from a period that I know better, like Gulf War I or Cold War-era Europe. But if the right idea pops into my head (or someone ropes me into an anthology project), it may happen in the future.

What is a gyrofoil?

Marko Kloos It's a helicopter-like machine with lift rotors that can tilt. Think of it as kind of like a huge drone with a cockpit.

Marko, I am playing the game Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and I couldn’t help but notice many references to the Frontlines world, including an NPC named “Kloos” right before a battle at Gateway station on Mars. Are these just coincidences, to your knowledge?

Marko Kloos I'd like to think so because there aren't too many people with that name, and I'm the only one with any SF notoriety. It could be a coincidence. But I do have fans in the genre who are in the film/TV/gaming industry (it's how I got roped into Love Death + Robots), so who knows?

Is there more Paladium Wars coming? This has been an awesome series to read coming off The Expanse, and I would love to have more.

Marko Kloos Yes, there will be a fourth book called DESCENT. This year is all about more Frontlines releases, so DESCENT will probably have a release early next year. Glad you're enjoying the series!

How long will the Palladium Wars be?

Marko Kloos I'm really bad at estimating series length (Frontlines was supposed to be a trilogy and is now going to be 8 books), so I can't tell you for sure. But I can tell you there will be a fourth novel out next year, and most likely there will be a fifth.

Marko Kloos They usually operate separately from the Russian component of the SRA, and Andrew had more to do with those because of Dmitry, so I haven't had a chance to really put them center stage. Thanks for the kind words!

Would you ever consider a novella that tells the story of Massoud? He is my favorite character and I'm sure there is more to him than Andrew's perception.

Marko Kloos Oh, there definitely is more to him than what Andrew sees. He would make a great character for a novella.

Love the books, a great feel just like the military, although I didn't have luck with finding a good woman like your character (gotta have some fiction). That said it felt like the Dejvu of going to the WWII museum in New Orleans. Different but similar if that makes sense. How far do you see the frontline series will go?

Marko Kloos I am writing Frontlines 8 in the first few months of this year (aiming to be done by late spring), which would put the release in early 2022. After that, I have plans for at least one more...in this story arc. We'll see what the world looks like when I am done with that.

Do you have any say into who voices your audiobooks? I LOVE that you have kept continuity across the Frontlines series. I'm just curious if you chose Luke Daniels for Palladium too. To me now he IS Andrew Grayson and its strange to hear him voice another of your characters.

Marko Kloos I don't have any direct input over the Audible productions other than pronunciation guides and so on. It all depends on production schedules, but I've been lucky to get Luke Daniels for all my novels so far.

Not so much a question more of a thank ya. As I love the character of Dimitri in the Frontlines series. Nice to see a character that is LGBT, but not having it being the defining characteristic. Keep up the good work! Side question as michigander any chance you might clear up question. Was Andrews squadmate from the Upper Peninsula? Point of curiosity as the UP does not catch a large amount of love in popular media.

I just started reading yours books ( I finished vol. 1 Frontlines and I'm in the middle of vol. 2) but I have to say that I love this series from the first page and Andrew Grayson is the best character ever created. Thanks you so much for the amazing books. I'm going to catch up quickly in reading. Is it known how many volumes the whole series will have, or is the matter developmental? (Sorry for my bad english).

Marko Kloos Frontlines #7 (Orders of Battle) will be the last Frontlines novel that's currently under contract. Chances are good they'll want more, though, and I've planned for two more after Orders of Battle.

When is the next book after Aftershocks?

Marko Kloos The next book in the Palladium Wars series will be out in July next year, and it will be called BALLISTIC.

Sorry to bother you, but do you have a tentative high level idea for when Frontlines Book #7 will be out at all? I'm jonesing here ... LOL. And yeah, this is likely the one question that EVERYONE keeps asking you, so apologies in advance as I can't find anywhere online where an answer might be posted.

Marko Kloos I'm writing Frontlines #7 next, so it should be out by late summer/fall next year. But stay tuned for some more Frontlines novellas, which will be out before then.

Hey and thanks for your wonderful books! When can we expect a follow-up to Points of Impact? I went through all six so far in about 8 weeks and can't wait for more, and even read Aftershocks to pass the time ( which was also good!). Also as an Icelander I love the references and names from Iceland in both Frontlines and Aftershocks!

Marko Kloos I'll be writing Frontlines #7 in the second half of this year. If all goes well, it will be out by late summer/fall of next year. But I plan to release several Frontlines novellas in the meantime to get people back into the world and provide some more backstory.

Your country is very pretty! I have only seen it from the air (stopped over in Keflavik twice), but I want to come and visit someday soon, maybe in the winter when the tourists are fewer.
