Reading is a wonderful thing. Through the power of language and the written word, ideas distant from ourselves in space and time are crystallised in books. To read is to mine these timeless gems. Writing is the process of finding the gems within oneself, developing them, and harvesting them for the good of others. The best thing about being a writer is sharing with others the sparkling reflections of one's own soul.

I don't experience "writer's block" as such. In my experience it is the daily requirements of life, like paying bills, making phone calls, etc. that get in the way of my writing. This is my version writer's block. The way I deal with such obstacles is by allocating set days to life admin, and leaving myself free days to do nothing but write. I find that when I make those free available to me, I can sit down without distraction and the words just flow.
