Hi Marilyn,
Mostly I'm inspired by the setting--that's how series always seem to start for me. Then I think about the kinds of people who would (or do) live there and what's important to them. After that, I try to mix it up and write about things (especially crimes) I haven't written about before, so that I get to learn right along with the characters.

Hi Cindy,
It's definitely a possibility. However, right now I'm focusing on wrapping up the five-book Mayfield cozy mystery series (the draft of book #3, Hide & Find, is almost finished!). It's difficult because I feel like I'm neglecting one set of friends to spend time with another set. Mirrors real life, I guess.
