Writing is creative. It allows me to me. And yet it also allows me to collaborate with other creative people. Writing helps me Organize my thoughts and share it with others.

My advice for aspiring writers is to write. I know it sounds simple, but it's not. I have always kept journals because it allows me to write in my voice. Writing is like running, the more you do, the stronger you become!

Writers block simply means the ideas that you have are not ready yet. That's okay, I have learned over the years that's it's okay to step back from a project so the ideas are not forced. I need to listen to my own voice when I write and write those thoughts when the ideas are ready. I enjoy that intimacy I have with my work before I show my work to anyone. This process could take years.

I have been working on another book in the Under the Sycamore Tree title, it's about a quirky little owl name Cornsilk. The title of the book is "Call me Cornsilk."

It depends. Writing helps me organize my thoughts. Sometimes I get inspired just by taking a walk outside, sometimes I get inspired by talking with other people. I love it when the ideas come freely when I sit down to write, it's as if someone is whispering something into my head. That is what makes writing so magical at times.m

I know this may sound silly, but I got the idea for writing The Birds in Backyard over at my parents house. The book is actually based on a true story. I have always been an avid bird watcher, but something special happen when my father placed a bird feeder in the Sycamore Tree. I somehow became more aware what was going on around me.
