This may sound odd, but reading inspires me to write. I'm an avid reader. A great book really does something to me. It makes me smile, cry, and laugh. I become so caught up in the plot and in love with the characters that I hate when the story is over. I want to write stories that make people respond the way I do.

Being an author that has a million things to do, my mind often gets cluttered with the cares of life. This is the start of writer's block for me. I simply find a quiet place, usually before the sun rises. I take a few deep breaths and focus in on the character I'm working on. Once I connect with their personality and emotions it is smooth sailing.
