Jason M. Bucklew Hi Ronald! Thanks for the question. My inspiration comes from a lot of different places, including my love of adventure, mystery, science fiction, and the outdoors. For Helixandra, I was fascinated by the idea of discovering a hidden world and exploring the possibilities and dangers of genetic experimentation.

For Witness in the Pines, the inspiration was even more personal. The original idea came from my dad, who suggested I write a story involving Bigfoot. That simple conversation sparked what eventually became a full novel. From there, I combined my interest in cryptids, survival stories, and the mysteries of the wilderness to create the book.

Most of my stories start with a simple "What if?" question. Once that idea takes hold, I build characters and worlds around it and see where the journey leads. Thanks again for asking and for your interest in my books!
Jason M. Bucklew I have a few books from Steve Alten I want to finish up, Phobos and Meg: Night stalkers. Then after that we will see.
Jason M. Bucklew I heard footsteps in the woods behind my house, slow and deliberate, matching mine no matter how I turned.
When I stopped, they didn’t, and that’s when I realized they were never behind me at all.
