First, trust and nurture you imagination. Critical is to read tons of books. Also, be patient because writing is work and takes perseverance with many edits and rewrites. Cultivate readers to get feedback on you manuscript.

I am researching astronomy and theoretical physics for the third book in my Lily series. I plan to send the teachers on an inter-galactic journey. This level of science is new for me and I have read four books by Einstein, Michio Kaku and other scientists to give myself an education on this topic!

For me, inspiration comes from reading well-written books. I particularly enjoy selections in my genre, romantic thrillers. Another source of inspiration is observing people in real situations. I have "discovered" my last two villains via memories of experiences I had, one in high school and the other during the first year after graduating college.
