Anne Shirley and Gilbert Blythe. They're the very definition of soulmates (or kindred spirits, if you will), so perfectly complementary to each other without being unrealistic. I think all couples should aspire to the Anne-and-Gilbert kind of love.

While struggling to come up with a coherent plot for my second historical, it occurred to me that it might be fun to write a Christmas story. As soon as I had that thought, the character of Noelle Silver appeared, fully-formed and bursting to tell me her story.

I'm working on book 2 of my contemporary Christmas romance series, "Silver Bells". Book 2 is called "A Holiday Gift" and centers on Lindsey Telford, a young widow with a toddler who enters a baking contest in hopes of winning prize money that can support her little family. But when she finds herself falling for a competitor, she has to question what she really wants.

Being able to say I'm a writer. Seriously, people are impressed by that. Just kidding. (Sort of). I think the best part of it is being able to live in other worlds. Visit time periods I didn't live through, explore settings I'll probably never see. Meet people that don't really exist (so it's easier to get away from them when they start annoying me).

Oof. Short answer, I don't. I wait. And wait. And usually wait some more. And then I feel guilty that of the three members of my critique group I'm the only one with no books to my name while the others have two and three, and I force myself to open the document and just write something. Anything. It usually gets delete, but it gets the juices flowing.
