I guess I don't think of it as inspiration. I think of it as putting words on the paper whether you are inspired or not. I do enjoy reading what other writers write about writing. Most people are very honest about their self-doubts and what works for them.. Sure makes you feel less alone with your struggles.

Read. Read in the field that you wish to write in. Read outside the field you wish to write in. Read Dwight Swain's Techniques for the Selling Writer. If you have a writer's group close to you, go. You don't have to join or contribute if you don't feel like it.

The ideal thing is to do what Beethoven did. He walked in the woods to get his ideas flowing. We don't often have a woods close by but any place where you are closer to nature would work. I live close to the beach.

I'm currently working on a book in which a cherub comes to life. I got the idea from doing a book about a theater that has four cherubs suspended on the proscenium.
