John R. Robey Honestly, most fictional worlds would probably be pretty terrible places to go, precisely for the reasons they make good fiction— conflict, war, injustice, etc. And while everybody imagines if they were transported to the Star Wars universe they'd be a Jedi, but going by sheer numeric probabilities you're more likely to be one of those guys rooting around in the garbage of Cloud City, so... it's a tough question to answer! XD

I think, in all, if I were going to a fictional book world, I would probably step into the world of P.G. Wodehouse, where even poor people are basically fine most of the time, and all you really have to do to get along in life is find the smart manservant in the background and consult them on the subject.

John R. Robey Depends on what the block is. If part of a story is just not working, I try to concentrate on a different part of the story that is. If I'm just plain out of ideas, I curl up in a ball and whimper. ;)

The best way to break a block, tho, is to just keep working. Having trouble writing the prose? Spend some time making notes on plot. Having trouble with who does what when? Make a timeline of scenes.

Having two or three projects going at once is great for this. Sometimes you have to just put Book A down and start working on Book B for a while.
