What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Anne Kelleher The best thing about being a writer is getting to play make-believe... to imagine different worlds and different ideas... to constantly play "what if?" and "then what?"

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Anne Kelleher I set myself a word count or a time limit - say a hundred words, or fifteen minutes. Usually forcing myself to do at least that primes the pump and I can focus on the story enough to put in my day's goal. But if I'm really blocked I let myself do something else... paint, play with play doh, sew, read, stare at the ocean... anything really, to give my creative child side a break.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Anne Kelleher I was encouraged to try a "cozy mystery" series by my publisher... thought I would give it a try!
