True North Hello, and thank you for inquiring. I didn’t set out to write a book. I went into the wilderness to do a vision quest. I did receive a vision — and this story. It began coming to me nightly as I slept, and during my awaking hours, I wrote what I’d experienced the night before. This continued for seven weeks and the first draft of Anasazi Vision was written.

As for the most emotionally difficult scene to write, that would be when I considered offing myself at the height of exhaustion while caring for my mother. Chapter One is memoir, and reflects my direct experience as my mother’s caregiver. I felt it important to be emotionally honest. It was a cathartic scene to write and allowed me to process the exhaustion and overwhelm of caring for her during the pandemic.
