I am currently working on several projects. One is distributing and donating my memoir to prison libraries across the United States so that imprisoned men and women can understand the issues associated with re-entry, which is why I wrote the book. The other is creating a data base of drug war stories from prisoners that have sent me their stories. I have hundreds of letters which tell of amazing stories which is the subject of my next book

I get inspired by discovering social justice issues that need to be addressed. Often times we see something wrong and just let it slide. My training as a liberation theologian has taught me to not just speak about a social justice issue, instead we must address it head on for positive chance.

I wrote the book because I wanted to offer insight and encouragement to those coming home from prison after serving a long sentence. Carrying the stigma of being an ex-offender is often debilitating, from being denied employment and housing, to not knowing how to establish healthy relationships, life becomes exceedingly difficult. In addition, maintaining that freedom is no easy task while wrestling with the haunting memories of past imprisonment.
