Hi Brydie,
When I was working as a journalist I interviewed a snail farmer. She had tiny copper electric fences around her snail enclosures because quote: "The fucking mice keep pinchen me stock." I couldn't get the idea out of my head of a band of mice jumping fences and raising a paddock of snails. The book evolved from there.
