Rob Mclennan thanks thanks! smoke signals, of course; between work and baby, i am buried, deep
Rob Mclennan The best thing about a writer, apart from making up your own schedule, is that whatever interests you have can directly enter your work. I follow entirely where my curiosity leads. If I want to spend two years, for example, researching obscure Canadian history, I can; especially if I can make it fit into a writing project.
Rob Mclennan When I get blocked on one project, I simply move over to another project. I constantly work on multiple writing projects at any given time, so to feel stalled on one, I simply move over to another. Sometimes it's just a matter of needing the back of the head to work on a problem for a while, before I can re-enter that particular work. I'm constantly reading and reviewing new books, and often if I'm blocked on a particular piece, reading quietly can help dislodge what had been caught.
Rob Mclennan I am currently working on a poetry manuscript, titled "World's End," multiple essays and reviews, and attempting to complete (in 2014) a collection of short fiction, tentatively titled "On Beauty." I am also editing a selected poems by Phil Hall for Wilfrid Laurier University Press.
