I grab my favorite book of all time and start reading it again. It's The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub. My block is usually gone before I get to Chapter Three. I've read the book at least 13 times and listened to the entire, unabridged audio book about 7 or 8 times--and I always discover something new every time.

Being able to work at home is a joy, but it requires discipline and focus. What works for me is trying to keep office hours, which means sitting down at my computer by 9 or 10 a.m., breaking only for lunch or walking my dogs.

Pick an author you like and read everything you can get your hands on by that author. Then branch out to other authors. My two favorites are Stephen King and Barbara Kingsolver.

The second book in The Congressman trilogy. The first one, The Congressman's Wife, is set for February 2016 release. The second is The Congressman's Mistress, which will come out in late 2016.
