I step back. Sometimes I find myself trying to answer what happens next and I get stuck. I step back for a while. When I start again, I go back and read what I've written and then just write without regard to where it's going. Sometimes the best twists and turns happen and the story goes in an entirely different direction. I sit back and think, "Wow. Didn't see that coming!"

Creating. Worlds, places, characters. The endless possibilities. But then, when your story is done, and someone reads it, and it changes their life. That's the best thing. I changed genre's after being saved. I write Christian Mystery now. And, I don't write to become rich or famous. I write to glorify God and hopefully change the lives of those who read my stories.

Writing a novel is the greatest feeling in the world. But, believe it or not, it's the easy part. Queries, cover letters, book proposals, social media. It gets daunting for some of us. But, stick with it. When people tell you they loved your story, it's all worth it.

I just completed "That Was Me." The story of Abigail. How she disowned God after all the tragedy in her life. Only to be given the chance to look back and see that he'd been there all along, guiding her to complete one simple act. To forgive.
Currently, I am writing "I Am Called." A story about David, how he truly believes God has called him to play baseball, but after a deliberate hit and run accident takes it from him, he must realize his true calling.

Since writing Footprints, my life changed. I gave my life to Christ on December 19, 2013. What inspires me now is Holy Spirit and the Bible. As I read the Bible, I discover stories that can be translated into modern day mysteries.

For Footprints, I lived in this area. Hunted from the same cabin in the story. I've always wondered how many "hunting accidents" were really accidents.
