Hi Linda, I reviewed the book last summer - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... - and also posted that on my blog and at Amazon. All the best.

Hi Renee, Angus's book was a rich and rewarding book to read. Many thanks for the Christmas greetings. May you have a wonderful Christmas as well. All the best, Roland.

If you have access to a review copy that would be great, Renee. Otherwise, I will save up and buy one in a month or so. As for 'Spiral of Hooves', the more sales from Amazon via my website - www.rolandclarke.com - the better, although the best are more reviews here and on Amazon. I can send you a Kindle copy or a PDF or the paperback, although those are both without the cover art.
As for 'spoilers', they are comments that give away a key plot element that spoils the book - like in bad movie trailers.

Hi, Renee. Good to hear from you. I just read your review of 'View from this Side' and nearly clicked Want To Read. But I realised that I am getting swamped by books/Ebooks - and outstanding reviews. I could be persuaded though, especially as I have many great memories of Scotland. What's one more book anyway!
Did you notice that I re-edited and re-released my eventing thriller, Spiral of Hooves, last month? https://rolandclarke.com/spiral-of-ho...

The first edition of 'Spiral of Hooves' was published in December 2013 but went out of print. I made a few changes based on readers' comments and the second edition comes out on August 7th - although the paperback is already available according to Amazon. For next few days that is my main focus.
However, I'm very happy to trade reviews although I am in the midst of one book and have promised a review of another that I read but which is still in my review pile. Then I can move yours to the top of the 'Currently Reading' list. I've just 'bought' your book although it is free at the moment, while mine isn't, yet.
I can try to create a new ARC - PDF probably - if you want. Let me know.

That would have to be Middle Earth as I have loved Tolkien's tales since reading many of them in my teens. The Shire is the place that I would start but as horses are my great love, I would go to Rohan. But Fangorn is a definite stop on the trip. There would be so many people to visit and talk to.

Meeting other people including other writers, but also readers. At first, that was at meetings when I got out and about, but now it's mainly online.

Don't give up, persevere. Writing is never instant but also try and enjoy the writing. Don't get stressed about it.

Sam Gamgee and Daisy Cotton because they are the real couple in my favourite book, Lord of the Rings.

Alternating between editing a set of short post-apocalypse tales. and a new mystery about a diary written at time of War of 1812 between Canada and USA.
In fact, those projects are shelved for now. I'm working on the mystery series set in North Wales that I started some years ago when we lived in Snowdonia.

Either dreams that cry out for expression, or things I read online. Sometimes though the ideas come as I'm gazing out of the window.

Spiral of Hooves arose from my experiences as an equestrian journalist, plus a bucket load of wild imaginings.
