Sorry for the late reply
A.J. Newman I've never had writer's block because I write in the same organized manner that I managed logistics. I alway pick a story that I want to tell. It has to be fun for me. I think about the story I want to tell for several days and tell the short version to myself several times. I use Excel to put the main events in chronological order and a separate spreadsheet to list my characters and their descriptions. Then I start with Chapter one and give some type of story with a hook to get the readers wanting more. If my fingers slow down on a certain chapter I skip to a more interesting part of the story and often I find that this helps me go back fresh to finish the slow chapter. Keep writing my friends.
A.J. Newman Write about something you already have experience with or know about. Don't be afraid to just sit down and let the words flow. You can always edit them later.
A.J. Newman I love Post-Apocalyptic books. I recently read a series by another author who had a tired plot but told it rather well. I wanted the "Event" to be caused something other than the usual EMP, monetary collapse or disease. Alien Apocalypse: The Virus is the first book in a series that explores the possible contamination to Earth from an ancient space traveler. The possibilities have stretched my imagination.
A.J. Newman My current work is "Alien Apocalypse: The Virus", which tells a tale about how an ancient alien visit could wreak havoc on the Earth and how my characters attempt to deal with the numerous horrors thrown at them. Sorry, no Zombies or spaceships attacking the Earth. It's similar to blankets given to the Indians full of smallpox, fleas, and parasites. I hope to publish it by mid to late August.
