Writing is like skinny dipping. It comes with all the freedom of allowing your private parts to roam in the distorted water of literature, and all the desire to hide your ass the second you get back out and realize just how exposed you truly are.

Don't listen to anyone elses advice on writing, not even mine. Don't look for acknowledgement. Writers can be known to eat their own young. Even I always joke and say that I would rather read dead authors. That way if I love their work I don't have to deal with the jealousy. If I hate it, I don't have to feel the remorse of criticizing. Just do it for you without barriers. Walls are the death of creativity. If you want to be edgy, be edgy. It is your work, your creation. People will always nitpick and criticize, don't let reviews bother you. Quite often, in my experience, I have found that reviews say far more about the reader than they ever do about the book.

The death of a very close loved one. It taught me the hard way how precious this little time we have on this ball is, and how important it is to use it, not just for ourselves, but for what we can give to others. My writing is my heart. It may be raw, but it is never ending.
