Thanks for the question.
My favorite fictional couple is Ben and Amy Sinclair from my book Still. As their 16 year-old son slips away into certain death, with the doctors unable to change the course to his inevitable demise, the couple continued to fight to save his life. The love for each other and for their son is palpable in every one of their actions throughout the book.
Have you read Still? In not, consider reading it and let me know if you agree with me.

The most recent book was the Traveler Series trilogy. I wanted to try my hand at a YA genre (young adult - appropriate for ages over 14). So, I thought of writing about time travel and what that would be like. Since there is no time travel, as an author, that gives me liberties. Time travel becomes what I say they become. It was fun writing the scenes that occur in the future. What will life be in 2060? TV, newspapers, making coffee, etc.

I commute 1.5 hours each way every day. But I have a driver. So, I sit in the back of my car as we travel down the road and I look at the passing trees and get inspired. I also get a lot of ideas when I do the driving, in the shower and when I go to bed in those few minutes before slumber comes.

I just finished writing a play for my daughter who is an aspiring actress. Next will be a table read with actors then more work on it. I'm also working on another medical murder mystery. Having a lot of fun with these two pieces.

I find that most people who would like to write but don't produce is because they imagine the first go-round of writing will be the last. But in truth, after you write your piece, you'll continue to work it over and over. So, write. Don't stop even if it sounds awful and wrong. Put it down. Then come back and re-shape the "wrong parts". Eventually, the masterpiece will take the form you'd like. But it won't be the first go-round with it.

One creates a universe with specific parameters and rules. It allows the creativity part of one's brain to flourish and it sure does feel good!
I say reading is brain exercise. With that in mind, writing is like doing a triathlon, right?

I go on to another project for a while. I had what you may call writers block when I was writing the Traveler Series trilogy so I discovered and began writing plays. Eventually, I came back to the trilogy and finished it.
